James 1:2-3 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

I love the term “rescue story” because that is exactly how I feel—rescued from so many trivial things and am now able to rest in God’s loving arms.  There is no greater peace than knowing, believing, and experiencing how much God loves us.

I was born into this world as a natural born planner.  I thought that if I made “good” decisions that I could determine my fate.  I knew in my head that God was in full control of everything, but I didn’t really understand what that looked like.  God rescued me from a failing marriage in a way that I never thought I would ever understand.  At the time, I thought that I would never recover from the most agonizing pain I had ever felt.  And although there will always be a scar from the experience, it gets less and less prevalent as time goes by.

Looking back, I can now say that I’m glad I have my scar.  I wouldn’t have it any other way.  God’s timing is perfect.  It is true—that going through hard times can bring you closer to God and can grow your faith in unimaginable ways.  It’s amazing how the little light (God’s love) that I could always see at the end of the tunnel became brighter and brighter the more that I grew to know Him better.  This happened because of the trials and tribulations I had to face.  My favorite bible verse is James 1:2-3 listed above.  God’s plans are amazing.  He brings us through fire and holds our hands before, during, and afterwards—even when you think He’s not there, He is.  God’s rescue plans are the BEST—He is God, after all, and it couldn’t get any better than that.
